Communicating Ideas

Understanding our projects through different narratives and guidelines to have a clear and catchy project personality that we can communicate effectively to others.

01

understanding my project

Over the recent weeks, I dedicated time to delve into my project, identifying key priorities for the future. I began this introspective journey by engaging with the golden circle exercise, pondering the trio of questions it presents. Later, I crafted a stakeholder map, considering the insights from the golden circle. This map included various groups such as potential investors, communities, and academic institutions. This reflective process enabled me to gain a deeper understanding of ongoing endeavours in Barcelona and uncover additional factors that may be significant.

Nuria

understanding my partner's project

Due to some distance restrictions, Nuria and I discussed our project in voice notes.
I asked Nuria to talk to me about her project and design space. I wanted to know all the areas she is exploring. Below you can find a link to the audio file of her answers.

02

exploring personal narratives through branding

This week, I believe the crucial aspect was discerning the narrative of my brand and understanding its influence on how I disseminate information about my project. It's clear that the approach to sharing details varies with each project—tailoring the storytelling to the audience, objective, and character is essential. Pablo provided us with branding boards to aid in comprehending our project more deeply, and my preferred ones that I completed are displayed below.

I applied the same activity and thought process to my partner's project to explore another's project through a similar lens

03 & 04

visualising personalities and narratives

I learned these weeks to create a narrative structure to the project as a personality and explored various ways of representing my interpretation. I have used generative technology to visualise my project's aspects.

In the same way I explored my project, I explored Nuria's narratives through visual storytelling

Reflection

I found this seminar extremely helpful and interesting as it provided a new lens through which I can view and explain my project as well as understand other projects in a similar way. The first week, I was able to clearly establish my motives and understand the positionality of the agents involved in my project. The templates provided helped me ask myself the questions needed to determine the narrative of the project.
The second week, we explored how we personify the project as a tool to understanding and communicating the concepts that are otherwise explained in different terms. Personifying my project made me feel closer to my project and i developed a deeper emotional connection that provided me with more accountability for the steps I take.
The third week, we explored how we write a story with the tools we now have, the narrative and the main character - the project and it's context. This is a practice I hope to explore in other projects as well to get a clear understanding of WHO a project can be and who it can be to people and all other agents.
In the final week, I learned various creative ways to tell the story and I reflected on how I want to tell my story. I wanted my representations to overcome barriers of language, mistranslation, education level, age and profession. A graphic that explains my project in varying levels of depth based on the person who views it. It is self explanatory and open to further interpretation. This provides the project as a evolving agent that learns with time and feedback.
I loved learning this new way of expressing my narratives.
