Reflection
This term, I was able to specify my areas of interest and find ways to connect them to each other. Using virtual spaces as a tool, i want to develop a safe to teach young women how to feel safer and understand themselves better. Designing more inclusive spaces and products. Identifying colonial and patriarchal influence in the systems and spaces that exist, redesigning them with less imperial mindsets and more circular and nurturing.
In my exploration, I've found that my interests aren't separate, they're like pieces of a puzzle that fit together. I'm passionate about making a safer, more understanding world for young women. This means building spaces and products that welcome everyone, right from the start.
I'm excited about using virtual spaces as a tool. These digital places let us go beyond the usual limits, creating environments where young women can learn, grow, and feel secure. My goal is to make these virtual spaces places where they can understand themselves better and feel safe.
I want to rethink how we design spaces and products. Today, many designs are influenced by old ways of thinking, tied to colonial and patriarchal ideas. I aim to change that. I want to design with a mindset that values connections, care, and sustainability, reflecting the natural world and how we're all linked.
I know I can't do this alone. Working with communities, especially those who will benefit most from these changes, is crucial. These groups aren't just the audience for my designs; they're partners who can offer valuable insights and help shape these inclusive environments.
To move forward, I need to bring more people into this journey, creating a team that shares this vision and can offer new perspectives. By combining our efforts, we can design spaces that are truly inclusive, making a world where young women feel empowered and valued, and where our designs celebrate the diversity and richness of all our experiences.
