Growing and Extruding

with kombucha, mycelium and terracotta clay.

we learned how to grow mycelium and control the nutritional requirements, air flow and osmosis by. incorporating it with clay and biomaterials.
with the extruder, I managed to print some forms but they did not hold long enough to dry properly.

Reflecting, I learned a lot in this course, especially about how different biological organisms communicate and grow through different networks of knowledge. I would like to experiment more with the combination of viscosity of the clay and structures that can be printed well and forms that hold well enough to dry fast.

The modifications in the 3D printer were really interesting to learn about and I will try to apply the hacking of 3D fabrication tools into my projects that carry more of a physical dimension.
